The following table describes fighter escort ranges for the three principle USAAF fighters used in the ETO.

This information was derived from two charts appearing in USAAF Handbook, 1939 - 1945 by Martin W. Bowman.

The ranges given are in miles and the values appearing within the ellipses are the size of external fuel tanks, in gallons, used to attain the specified range. Numbers appearing alone indicate that a single tank was used, while numbers preceded by "2x" indicate that dual wing tanks were employed.
